In 1994 Giudalab was the first official website of the University of Calabria and the first of the entire Calabria region. It was also in the list of the top 100 sites in Italy.
Among the first in Italy, the use of digital signature and digital certification for web services was experimented within the laboratory. A collaboration with the Polytechnic of Torno as part of the EuroPKI project in 2003 allowed Unical to introduce the use of digital signatures in documentary processes and subsequently in the recording of exam reports
At Giudalab, e-Learning platforms have been tested since 1992 (GiudaBBS) and were subsequently converted into web-based services for the Faculty of Engineering. Platforms have been created for the distribution of teaching materials, booking exams and carrying them out remotely. Giudalab currently manages the iCampus portal for DIMEG and is releasing the new bLearn platform which also manages the exam tests
